kids room: a textbook example

Afgelopen zaterdag was het een jaar geleden dat lief, ik en de kids in één huis gingen wonen en we samen een gezin met vijf kids zijn; wat druk, gezellig en fijn is! En voor mij als bijkomend voordeel heeft dat we veel kinderkamers in kunnen richten, zoals de kamer van Floor!

Recent kregen Pip en Noor, na een kamer te hebben gedeeld, ook een eigen kamer en heeft nu iedereen zijn eigen plek in huis. Leuk om weer samen na te denken over de indeling, de kleuren op de muur, een fijn bureau waar je met meer dan één huiswerk aan kunt maken en een fijne zitplek voor het raam. En waar we alle leuke accessoires en dierbare spullen een plekje kunnen geven. 

Als het klaar is deel ik het graag hier op mijn blog!

Inspiratie voor de inrichting van de kinderkamers is in ieder geval altijd welkom, bijvoorbeeld door het binnenkijken in deze waanzinnig leuke kinderkamers in een voormalige dorpsschool in Nes aan de Amstel. Een mooi contrast tussen de stoere jongenskamer met zwarte lambrisering en inventieve coole wandkast én de lieflijke meisjeskamer met romantische rotan hangstoel en witte klamboe. Waarbij beide kamers zijn voorzien van hoge plafonds, prachtige raampartijen en stoere gymtoestellen en -matten met een knipoog naar de voormalige functie van het gebouw.

While living together with five kids, inspiration for designing and styling kidsrooms is always welcome. I fell in love with the pictures of these two kidsrooms in a former school. The bold boysroom and the lovely girlsroom, both with such great windows and some gymnastic items matching the former function of the building.

NOW or NEVER

Last summer I discovered Ávivre, a great French interior design magazine, in a local bookstore in France. I fell for the cover with a picture of this inspiring house designed by NU architectuuratelier in Ghent, Belgium.
Or actually a picture of their beautiful house, studio and guest room built within the walls of an industrial building. With much design, recycling, containers, carpets and a wonderful open space, which is both a park, play and work area. A great place to live.

counting my blessings on sunday

A lovely week in which:
* the kids went to school again; spending our holiday together was lovely and passed too fast, also enjoying our holiday so much because of letting go the routine of daily life and spending time together;
* last friday the car and tent trailer were brought back home safely, after our car broke down very shortly after we left our campingsite, including the inspiring interior magazines IDEAT, MILK decoration and AVIVRE and the XXL shopper I bought;
* we enjoyed a BBQ with the kids on the indian summer evening this saturday; and
* I bought this RAAF cushion #inlove :)

blog breathing

Blogging is sharing my inspiration and beautiful things in life. But sometimes or perhaps even for some months there is less inspiration. Fortunately there are allways beautiful things and people in my life. 

Today I checked and deleted more than 30 blogs from my 'inspiring blogs'-list. Because they posted no blogposts since (more than) one year (or because they recently started their blog on another blogadress in which case I loved to add the new adress :))

But I don't want to quit my blog. Actually it feels so nice, so lovely, so worthwhile, so me and something to breath new life into!

Today I made some pictures of our interior for a magazine. Nice publicity while we are selling our house. But it feels empty after cleaning up and removing all things 'unnecessary' for the online presentation. Feeling the urge to share a styled home for inspiration: a beautiful house in a former garage in Den Bosch inhabited by Studio Boot published in the june edition of VT Wonen. 

Love this interior, the PHE furniture, the lovely moldavian carpets, the combination of basic and bright colors, the enormous industrial space and the eclectic styling!

Six months ago I saw the great Sending Animals cabinet at Van Mij, one of my favorite shops in Arnhem [post]. Five month ago I made the Instagram picture of Floor´s Schleich animals. And the wallpaper animals by Inke I like for some years now.
This weekend while reading VK magazine I saw this picture of the Sending Animals by Seletti piled up as the animals in the famous book The Bremen Town Musicians and suddenly all the other pictures popped up in my head.

no blessings...

Last weeks I published no blessings-post on my blog. Not because there are no blessings, but just because my head is sometimes too full to make pictures of it (in my head) everyday. But looking back there are certainly blessings to share:
* like loving my job, nowadays with a fully booked schedule but with so many positive things, like the people I work with and a dare-to-ask session at a network meeting with everybody helping each other, sharing their experience and contacts
* the kids: experiencing the open-mindedness of my children and them getting along so well together, but also basically gathering together a new winter collection for them, because oops they are growing so fast, wishing time didn't fly as it does....
* the lovely reaction by Anna-Rosa from My Lifebox winning the give-away on my blog; and
* enjoying the inspiration in MilK Decoration no.5 and Milk Magazine no.41, the 10th anniversary edition; loving the person who bought them for me in la douce France.

This week (12-18 August) the first PIN gallery is taking place in Amsterdam with a selection of great pictures collected by eight Dutch pinners, initiated by Studio Sjoesjoe and 101woonideeen. finca love

I have a crush on this Spanish finca: the concrete floor, the basic white and grey walls and styling. 

With some accessories I used to sell in my webshop like the horse swing, the tire basket and the crochet stool cover. Realizing I miss my creative job sometimes....

The Finca Pura Vida is a B&B in Benissa run by a dutch family. Such a great place to spent your holidays!

crush on pink neon

I've always had a crush on pink in my interior. Not to much, but just a small touch.

So I adore this great styling in the dutch interior magazine VTwonen by Frans Uyterlinde with pictures by Jansje Klazinga. 

Having plans to repaint the pink wall on Pip's room with silver-metallic paint, I think I'm going to add some neon pink details :)
