PINK DESIGN

Het bezoeken van Restaurant Van Aken en het Werkwarenhuis van Social Label stond al heel lang op mijn lijstje. Evenals na (te) lange tijd weer bijkletsen met mijn liefste vriendin. Alle reden om samen heel lang koffie te drinken en te lunchen in dit prachtige, stoere pand met geweldige roze looks. Om na de lunch even rond te kijken bij de prachtige social design producten met een missie gemaakt door www.sociallabel.nl. En aansluitend een rondje conceptstores in het centrum van Den Bosch in te gaan, zoals KoekwauS, Westside & Daily Poetry.

Een dagje inspiratie samen met een heel lief iemand is echt de beste combi!

If you like pink, good food and social design you should definitely visit Van Aken in Den Bosch. And while you are there also enjoy the many original conceptstores like KoekwauS, Westside & Daily Poetry in the citycentre!

piet hein eek

Het stond al enige tijd op de planning - een dag gezellig samen weg met m'n moeder en zuslief - maar het kwam er steeds niet van. Te druk met alle andere leuke en vooral noodzakelijke dingen in ons leven en misschien soms te druk met druk zijn. Maar afgelopen zaterdag hadden we het dus zomaar even druk met bijkletsen, lunchen, shoppen en inspiratie opdoen in Eindhoven, de stad waar we ooit woonden.

We lunchten en struinden rond bij Piet Hein Eek, waar ik keer op keer zo blij word van alle mooie vertrouwde en nieuwe ontwerpen en de inspirerende plek. We bezochten Strijp-S, kochten Tallow 'kaarsen' van Ontwerpduo bij Daily Poetry, bezochten net voor sluitingstijd de prachtige Sissy-Boy store in het centrum van de stad en aten heerlijke antipasti en pasta bij Usine. 

Het was fijn!

Saturday I went to Eindhoven together with my mother and sister. We spent a lovely day having lunch & lots of inspiration at Piet Hein Eek, visiting Urban Shopper at Strijp-S buying the lovely Tallow 'candle' at Daily Poetry, admiring the beautiful Sissy-Boy store at the city center and having dinner and lovely conversations at Usine!

pop-up trip

De start van onze zomervakantie naar Zuid Frankrijk met een korte citytrip naar Milaan voelde als een feestje. Een beetje onvoorbereid, waardoor we juist spontaan leuke, inspirerende plekken ontdekten. Zoals de 'mini' IKEA #IKEAtemporary waar we terecht kwamen toen we eigenlijk op zoek waren naar de designwinkel Salvatore + Marie aan de Via Vigenova. Verrast door deze leuke IKEA pop-upstore met bijzondere inspiratie voor duurzaam wonen en koken in een mooi oud industrieel pand en in de nog leukere wijk Navigli. 

Een hippe wijk om rond te struinen, om - hoe kan het ook anders in Italie -lekker te eten, om leuke winkeltjes te ontdekken zoals Brandstorming aan de Via Corsico en om nog een keer terug te komen!

Exploring Milano on a short citytrip at the beginning of our holiday. Such a beautiful city with Navigli as a lovely and inspiring neighbourhood. Visiting the nice pop up store #IKEAtemporary at the Via Vigenova. It felt like a party to start our holiday like this.

lepeltje lepeltje

Afgelopen zondag sloten we onze heerlijke zomer(se)vakantie met de kids af op het culturele foodfestival Lepeltje Lepeltje in Apeldoorn. Een kleinschalig festival met lekker eten, live muziek en een leuke markt.
De kids aten een biologische suikerspin van Alice&Kate's Steam Pop Machine, waardoor Floor er echt uitzag als een stoommachine :), ik ontmoette spontaan Marieke en haar collega die met stoere artikelen uit hun webshop op de markt stonden, maar ook lieve vrienden uit Zutphen en genoot van alle leuke mobiele keukens, mooie mensen en vooral de relaxte sfeer!

Aankomend weekend is Lepeltje Lepeltje te vinden op Mysteryland Haarlemmermeer.

Last sunday we visited Lepeltje Lepeltje, a cultural food festival in the Netherlands with mobile kitchens, nice food, beautiful people and a relaxed atmosphere. Enjoying the last day of our lovely summer holiday with the kids. Some more posts about our holiday later this week!

Today I was browsing through the last edition of 101 woonideeen, a dutch interior magazine which unfortunately doesn't exist anymore, when my attention was captured by a picture of such a colorful carpet. 

I had an instant crush on this great carpet designed by Petra Janssen from Studio Boot as part of the Dutch Landscapes collection. 

It really fits the interior styling of their own house I wrote about in an earlier blogpost and its so beautiful! It's definitely on my I-wish list!

no dogs allowed

Yesterday I spent a lovely day with my best female friend in Eindhoven. Visiting one of my favorite places-to-be: Piet Hein Eek at Strijp R. Until yesterday I always visited this spot on busy days during the Dutch Design Week, captured in previous posts. But yesterday it was a lovely quiet place, having dinner outside in the sun, celebrating 30 years of friendship!

I love doll houses and not the sweet ones only appriorate for girls, just like Ruffled Snob of Pirates and Peonies do.
We have a black chalkboard painted wooden Amsterdam Canal House in the living room, a large old doll house also painted black on the outside and white on the inside in Pip and Floor's bedroom and a small cardboard house from Ferm Living with 4 departments, just like the pear house by Rock & Pebbel.
Love this original house, but four doll houses seems a bit exaggerated :)

By the way Rock & Pebble also sells an apple house. And recently I bought such lovely doll house furniture at IKEA like a miniature Klippan bench and Lack cupboard and table.

just enjoying life

Looking back on such a nice Easter weekend with my love: having dinner at Het Koelhuis on friday evening, visiting and falling in love with Delft, enjoying sun and laziness at Whoosah Scheveningen, lunch at Dudok The Haque, Easter breakfast at Kek Delft, having a drink outside at the Molenpad, Prinsengracht Amsterdam after visiting Pinned Up by Marcel Wanders at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam (more about that later in a new post :)). 

Realizing I didn't take as much pictures as I intended to, because I just wanted to enjoy and capture the moments together. 

Feeling so blessed! Hoping you have had a nice Easter weekend too!
