august in december

It was on my to-go-list for such a long time, but today we actually experienced "Villa August" in december. It was a grey and cold winterday, but it felt warm and bright being there. Sharing our visit at Villa Augustus with lovely friends and all our kids. Knowing we will visit it on a sunny day (perhaps in august) some time.

PS. the neon pink christmas decoration fish left at the top of the tree (at picture nine) has moved to our X-MAS tree in Zutphen as a sweet souvenir :)

counting down till XMAS

Still eight days left and it will be the 1th of december. The day our youngest son will celebrate his seventh B-day and the start of counting down the days until XMAS. 

Recently I collected some great DIY advent calenders on Pinterest. Still one week left to make your own personal one!

enjoying my blessings

A heavy week with lots of mixed emotions, but knowing there are always blessings to count.

Some of my lovely blessings were:
* a lovely deer we bought at my favorite store HEMA for X-MAS but secretly for every other day of the year
* our kids, captured on this lazy sunday morning, enjoying reading books
* today visiting the museum of VSM with the kids walking around impressive old trains,
* and celebrating St. Martin on the 11th of november with Pip & Floor walking with their cute lanterns, singing songs and getting candy :)

Deze week werd ik blij van:
* het gevoel dat ik minder heen en weer heb lopen rennen en vliegen tussen werk, school en thuis dan voorgaande jaren in de laatste week voor de kerstvakantie
* met Sam naar het optreden van Pip in het koor van de kerstmusical op school, al was het jammer dat Floor niet kon schitteren in het koor omdat hij ziek was en manlief er daardoor ook niet bij was
* dat Floor gisteren tijdens de kerstboodschappen in de supermarkt heel cute als echt koningskind de zilveren kroon gemaakt voor de musical alsnog ophad :)
* het vooruitzicht van vakantie en tijd om voor het einde van dit jaar stil te staan bij de blessings van 2011!

This week I enjoyed: *Pip singing in the choir at a Christmas musical at school *looking forward to a week holiday because of Christmas and *having time to count all the blessings of 2011 before the end of this year!

In deze donkere dagen voor kerst heb ik behoefte aan licht én warmte. Daarom warme witte pins en de stille hoop op een witte kerst!

Mijn blessings van deze week:
*veel waardevolle bijeenkomsten op mijn werk begeleid door inspirerende mensen: over denken in mogelijkheden, transactionele analyse, en (stilte-) communicatie!
*een lang weekend vrij met de kids waarin we ons huis in kerstsfeer hebben ondergedompeld met dit jaar wel drie kerstbomen; manlief maakte er een voor me van pallets :)
*het samenstellen van de HEMA-fotoagenda met mooie foto's via Pinterest; ik heb nu al zin hem op te halen! en
*het branden van kaarsjes op deze wereldlichtjesdag waarvan eentje voor onze liefste Cato*
