cardboard horse-riding

When I saw the picture in Flair of a little girl with her cardboard horse, it reminded me of a picture I made of Pippi and her paper horse in december 2007. She made her horse on her daycare and it looked so sweet.

Unfortunately I can't find the original picture on my computer anymore, so I made a picture of the printed version I have kept in my diary all those years. 

While searching for the picture, it felt like a trip down memory lane watching all those old pictures of my kids. A good intention to make some new photobooks for the kids next year :)

* guiding the second day of a job application training experiencing so many positive energy

* spending time with my kids after a fulltime workschedule this week

* seeing a big and wonderful smile on the face of Pip & Floor this morning after receiving a small present in their boots delivered by Saint Nicholas, despite of the fact they were awake too early :)

* watching the movie "Alles is liefde", a feel good movie, on saturday eve 

* reading a couple of inspiring magazines; and 

* spending our sunday afternoon with precious friends

saint nicolas arrived today

In the Netherlands we celebrate the B-day of Saint Nicolas on the 5th of December. And every year he arrives in our country in November to celebrate the preparations of his birthday, like filling shoes of kids with small presents once in a while. Because he doesn't receive gifts on his birthday but gives presents to all kids in our country. A tradition we pass on to every next generations for centuries. With gifts, poems and surprises.

Today he arrived in Holland and my kids placed their shoes in front of the DIY fireplace singing special Saint Nicholas songs. So now it's my turn to take care of the presents :)

Stylecookie developed some inspiring surprises for the 5th of December in association with Flair, a lovely dutch magazine. You can find the descriptions on their great site!

In the eastern part of our country there are unfortunately too little great interior design events. So nice to have discovered the Dutch Design Market in Arnhem!

A couple of days a month designers sell unique clothes, accessories, interior objects and art. Taking place in a pop-up store with a great industrial look in the Koningstraat.

The next Dutch Design Market is held on 1 December.

Just imagine visiting the DDM, getting inspired at Sissy Boy Homeland, doing some christmas shopping at Van Mij, buying paper presents at BL-ij and enjoying apple pie or lunch at Dudok......

Yesterday Nelleke of Langius Design started her web- and workshop SIMPEL&LEUK. Selling wonderful handmade stuff like blankets, wooden kids accessories, home decoration, masking tape, graphic cards and so many other lovely accessories.

It's a shop you should really add to your favorite webstore-list! 

It is also possible to learn how to make your own DIY-accessories by following a personal workshop at her home together with some friends!

enjoying my blessings

A heavy week with lots of mixed emotions, but knowing there are always blessings to count.

Some of my lovely blessings were:
* a lovely deer we bought at my favorite store HEMA for X-MAS but secretly for every other day of the year
* our kids, captured on this lazy sunday morning, enjoying reading books
* today visiting the museum of VSM with the kids walking around impressive old trains,
* and celebrating St. Martin on the 11th of november with Pip & Floor walking with their cute lanterns, singing songs and getting candy :)
